SSC Stenographer 2014

Eligibility: 12th Standard Pass from a recognized board or university

Age: 18-27 years as on 01.08.2014 (Candidates born not before 02-08-1987 and not later than 01-08-1996)

(a) Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade “C”: 38 (General-27, SC 1, ST 06, OBC-4, OH-1, VH-NIL)

(b) Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade “D”: 496 (General-300, SC-62, ST 33, OBC-101, OH-11, VH-02, Ex.Servicemen-19)

Note: 
Vacancies of Stenographer Grade “C” are in Ministries/Departments of Central Government, located mostly in Delhi.

Application Fee: Rs. 100/- payable through CRF Stamps for off-line application or SBI Challan or on line payment through SBI in the case of on-line application. Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

Selection Procedure
The Examination will comprise a Written Objective Type Examination followed by Skill Test in Stenography at 100 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ &’D’ respectively.

Written Exam
The duration of the objective exam is 2 Hours. The pattern is as follows:-
1. General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 Marks (50 Questions)
2. General Awareness – 50 Marks (50 Questions)
3. English Language – 100 Marks (100 Questions)


Note: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Manage Time and Answer Prudently in 

SSC-CGL Exams 2014

Combined Graduate Level exam that is conducted by Staff Selection commission is quite popular among aspirants preparing for government jobs. This exam aims at screening graduate level aspirants since the job offered and the position that is to be managed falls under bureaucratic setup. The minimum eligibility of the job as far as education qualification is concerned is set as graduate or equivalent.

Similar to numerous other exams SSC-CGL is a multi tier test. Its first level that is now
to be conducted on April 27th and 4th of May 2014 and will test students for their knowledge for general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. All the four papers in this exam are of 50 marks each. The time allowed for solving the paper is slotted at two hours.

The time allowed and the number of questions required to be completed is almost neck to neck. Therefore, it is must that an aspirant should not only know the papers well but should also know to manage the time effectively. In case an aspirant just know how to solve the paper but is not swift enough to complete the paper in time, then it will be a disadvantage.

Further, the second most important thing that is to be considered by the aspirants while taking the exam is that of negative marking. Yes! For all those who were unaware of the fact that there is a negative marking system in SSC CGL, please make a note of it. As per the rules, every wrong answer will fetch you a -0.25 marks. Going by this, every four wrong answer will erode your one correct answer as well.

Some of the aspirants also struggle with properly managing their answer sheet. In many cases, it has been known that despite knowing the correct answers it was marked incorrectly over the answer sheet. And to top the complexity, a neck to neck allotted time with negative marking can make you aspirants even more nervous. However, to counter such situations with ease and prudence, a lot of practice in similar exam environment with matching pattern of question is to be practiced by the aspirants.

Educational Qualifications
Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
Statistical Investigator Grade – II: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects
Or
Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
Or
Bachelor’s Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
Or
Bachelor‟s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
All other Posts: Bachelor‟s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
Scheme of Examination
The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as mentioned below:
Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
